that's the time frame that they always give but it usually posts within two business days.

I don't have a choice therefore I need to know what to expect in this scenario

As long as it's not more Than you've spent on the card,

I thought banks hate refunds to cards that weren't used for the purchase? I know people have had checking accounts closed because of such refunds.

its a refund to a credit card in which only 5% of the total charge was made with that card, unfortunately I only have the option of refunding the whole charge to that card which is much more then my credit line

If it's a 1off I don't see an issue, as long as u have spent that amount in the past (and plan on spending it in the future)

So when it posts to the card, call the card for a refund.

If this was no big deal, every blog in the churning world would be telling people to meet minimum spend by buying a laptop on a new card and returning it on an older card.

I'm curious why the return can't be made to the original card. Ordinarily, returns and refunds can be made to even closed cards.
