Thanks for that link. From the wiki, it looks like adding someone as an AU can transfer over the credit of the AH to the AU. Is that instantaneous?
Does she have anything on her CR right now?

I don't think so. All she might have is being an AU on one of my accounts.

Hi, need some guidance from the pros:

Amex PRG with the first AF about to be charged and I don't use the card at all - I got the 50k points and now use Chase Freedom Unlimited or Reserve for everything.
I got an email invite from Amex to upgrade PRG to Platinum for 50k points after 5k spend. Is that a great offer that I should take advantage of (as I imagine it would save a credit pull even though the 5k spend is hard for me now) or should I rather close the PRG card or keep open and pay AF/try retention?

Thanks so much!
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

First try retention, then upgrade if you've had the plat before, If you haven't then it's not worth it and just close it.

Can someone help me for a moment with credit score reports?
I get my FICO Credit Score from Discover and from American Express every month, but they don't match what so ever! They both land me in 740-765 over the past several months, but Discover shows a very different graph then AMEX. While AMEX reports my score for the past month as 766, Discover reports it as only 748!
Who do I go with? Is one known for being more reliable than the next?

Amex gives you your Experian score, while discover is Trans Union.

Background: I'm trying to open two specific credit cards, let's call them Cards A and B, from Chase. I applied for them both together (MBM), and both were denied because I have no credit. After a call with the Chase Reconsideration Department, I was able to get Card A approved, but I was told that I would need to apply for Card B at a later time once my credit score increased.

Question: Now that I have Card A, would help or hurt me if it help if I opened another credit card from a different bank? I am Citi Gold, so I imagine that my banker can get me approved for a basic Citi card, let's call it Card C. On the one hand, having a Card C in addition to Card A would allow me to build a stronger credit history. On the other hand, when it comes time to open Card B with Chase, they might see that I've now opened 2 cards in the past couple of months, and it might seem like I'm desperate for credit.

Thoughts?

Opening Card C with a bank other than Chase would be good as a long-term credit move but probably wouldn't help your wife get the second SW card faster for purposes of getting the companion pass. Since you said she has nothing on her reports except one AU card, she was very lucky Card A was approved as her first CC. Chase can be a very conservative issuer with new customers and especially with people who have a limited credit history.

Thanks for that careful analysis! But it wouldn't hurt her chances either, correct?

No, it could hurt. The more new credit obtained by someone starting with no credit, the harder it is to be approved for additional cards in the short term. (After a few months, it becomes a positive.)
