Will chase let me make a payment before my statement is due on card 1 from a bank account that is only added on to a card 2?

Why not? They let you make payments from any account AFIK
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Push or pull? If trying to pay on Chase's site, only the bank accounts added for a particular card can be used. (It's not like Amex or Citi, where a bank account can be added to all accounts at the same time.)

Other than Barclays, anyone know of any banks that pull only TransUnion or Equifax regardless of the applicant's state of residence? Over 90% of my inquiries are on Experian, so I'd like to give that one a rest for a while. Thanks.

Thanx. Side DP. I got amex to make 3 payments today before my statement closed, all from a brand new bank account. I was pretty surprised that it went through

First try retention, then upgrade if you've had the plat before, If you haven't then it's not worth it and just close it.
Thank you! What do I try for retention - meaning what should I aim for?

Ask for the retention department and tell them that you're thinking of closing your card, there will either be an offer or there won't.

Don't worry about it. Inquires are pretty much meaningless.

Thank you. So there's no HUCA with retention offers?

Also, don't know if this is right place but this PRG card is first card primarily in my name but I do have older cards listed on credit report as authorized user. Should I be concerned to close this?

You can try to HUCA but I don't think people have had success lately with amex, someone can CMIIW.
It will affect your score but assuming you have some other cards that are also older then you should be fine.

If someone has a pre-approval & applies online (using Dan's link OC) will that cause the pre-approval to disappear ? (Assuming they weren't approved)

They'll need your SSN and EIN unless you apply as SP,  then they'll need your SSN x2

I called on a Biz SPG.  The CSR wouldn't connect me to retention but put me on hold and talked to them.  She came back and said theh had no offers but that she would give me a $95 statement credit.

So your right,  there's several paths available.

Closing a card WILL NOT affect your score unless it changes your utilization in a meaningful percentage (which is a moot point when discussing AMEX chargers.

Freeze EX and then app whoever you want.

AMEX always wants EX.  Chase and Citi are state dependent and usually wont budge.

BofA,  USB,  FNBO can all be nudged to different CRA's if EX is frozen.
