Applied for three credit cards at the same time. One was on hold until four days later. I called and they released the hold. It's supposed to be one pull yet I see one on Experian a week later. This is with Amex. Any ideas?
I think you could call Experian and say second pull is a mistake. Speak to manager if need be. I was successful with doing this..
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

I believe with amex they have to be approved the same day to automatically merge the pulls. Wizard is correct in the process how to remove it

Thanks and thanks! I remember seeing that if it was approved within 5 days they use the same credit pull...

Way before it closed, but nothing posted yet not even for the purchases I made!?
Check pending points. Usually after the next statement closed. You can call to get them expedited YMMV.

Assuming someone has 0 credit history, would it make any difference in getting them approved for a basic card like the freedom, if they are added to their spouses chase bank account? A friend was trying to get his wife the freedom and she was declined due to no history whatsoever.

Interesting. Well he's not sure what to do, she's been declined for store cards as well for the same reason. I guess secured credit is the way to go.

That's a possibility. I know she's an AU on some cards of his more recently. I'll ask him. Which cards are best to be AU for as far as credit?

I think all the same but a non-Amex that was opened long ago will help give her age of credit I believe

Its best to add her to a card that her social is given . IME capital one worked great .

Only for cards that were opened back when amex backdated, now any amex will show the date it was opened, not the date the original card or your oldest card was opened.

Best Amex cards to apply for now (other than SPG)?

Also - if I need to apply for an Amex card now and I'm on the fences of 5/24, should I attempt to apply for some Chase cards before my first new Amex statement closes?

Thanks so much!!

Yes definitely, if you're at 4/24 you should be able to get at least 2, possibly 3 if you're really good with recon.

I got my Barclaycard AA annual fee refunded after the statement closed. The CSR told me I do not need to make a payment but my account is still showing a payment due even though the balance is 0.

Do I need to pay it?
