Chase offering me to downgrade CSP to regular Chase Sapphire. I never had Sapphire before but it doesn't seem like I can apply for it anymore. Any reason not to downgrade to that being that I'm not losing a signup bonus?

Why not downgrade to freedom for 5x bonuses ?

If you do a lot of dining you'll benefit from the sapphire.
Or downgrade to the Freedom Unlimited for 1.5 points on everything.

Is there a max number of cards that Amex will approve you for in a given amount of time or that you can have open at any time? e.g. chase would be 5/24

They'll let you have 4 or 5 Amex "credit" cards at once. You can have more charge cards

think officially only 2 new credit cards not charge within 30 days but maybe more
