NT: Is there any effect on my credit from closing a business platinum charge card? I know I could downgrade it to a free card but what's the point?

Fraud said they see such a charge but nobody else sees it. The charge 2 weeks ago does show up.

I didn’t pay it as it’s not on my statement. Lucky for Amex it wasn’t a huge charge

So Amex covered it then? Or declined it?

They approved it back then as they had no reason not to, yet somehow it didn’t make it onto my account.

Maybe you disputed it than, that's why it's not on your account.

Didn't dispute it then. Don’t recognize this merchant & the address is a residential apartment building.

Get a hold to the fraud department tell them they should review your statement and there's no such charge on your account..
They have same statement as you see.
Maybe they were looking on something else like charges or disputes.
But I assume the actual statement is the same.

I spoke to fraud department

I called Amex about a charge from a few weeks ago I didn’t recognize. The rep gets on with fraud & then tells me fraud sees the same thing was charged several months ago. Regular rep can’t see it & I checked my statement & don’t either see it. How’s that possible ?

Why can't you review with them your statement charge by charge, until they realize that there's no such charge on your account.

Sometimes the Reps. Are Soo stupid, that until you'll put on pen and paper they won't realize they're mistake..

No, but they might be talking of this same current charge. As per most of the times the Reps are stupid.

I had once that had to fight with them, until finally I told the CSR to take a pen & paper and write down all the charges on the right and all the credits on the left than calculate them (it was regarding a credit on something that she claimed I was credited already) she finally realized her mistake (after 15 min argument) and she said she putting me on hold, and yes I'm still waiting for her to return to the call.....
I guess she was ashamed so she just banged the phone..

sounds over here like the charge was approved a few months ago and only posted now, (I've had this with elal-when charged in Israel)
