I have major beef with AMEX...I applied for the SPG card when the bonus was 35K. Before I applied I called Amex CS to find out if I was eligible for the bonus. The rep looked into it and told me I was. MY big mistake, I didnt get a ref. id to the call. Fast forward a few months, I have yet to receive the bonus. I called Amex and they informed I am not eligible since I have had the card in the past. Last week I went on live chat and spoke with an agent about this and after looking into my account, he said he was sending the denial back in for processing since he said I should be eligible because I never had the card before. This I got a ref. ID to this chat. Today AMEX said I am not eligible bc I did have the card in the past. I asked them when and they said they cant go back and see when. My argument to them is, if two reps told me I was eligible for the bonus, 1 we have on record, and this was the only reason I took out the c.c, right or wrong, if the agent told me this shouldnt I be credited the bonus? Its not my fault if they gave me the wrong info. This feel like a bait and switch. ANy suggestions? I have HUCA 2x and getting really annoyed with the "I cant do anything but let management know about more training so this doesnt happen again"...
