i need to open a 0% apt card for now..its down to two cards.
Capital one  receive 20,000 bonus points for opening account and 1.25x points per $1 spent  or
a visa i found with 0% and $150 sign up bonus and 1.25 x points per $1 spent..
so basically whats more valuable..  20k capital one points or $150..  I never had capital one i assume capital one 20k points is =$200 ? anyone have any clarity on that?

Applied for Chase United Explorer and Freedom with 2BM. Approved on United, declined on Freedom. Reason given- "Too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us". I am only over 5/24 with AU's, otherwise under 5/24. Should I call Recon?? Or is that risking added scrutiny on my accounts? Thanks!

In your circumstance, I called recon and got my new card.
What scrutiny are you afraid of?

Thanks. I'm not afraid of any specific scrutiny. I'm just relatively new to the CC scene, and I see alot spoken about Chase "adverse actions" etc and that they have gone a bit crazy lately. That is why I was asking.

I'm wondering if the 2BM messed me up and if calling makes it worse.

Call with a reasonable reason for needing the Freedom card also.
Maybe: you fly United a lot, but also want the opportunity to earn UR points.
OR you want to keep different expenses separate from each other, so you''ll charge them to different cards.
Not to worry, they're unlikely to recind your United approval.

Thank you! and thanks for the tip about modifying a post. ;)
Is the 2BM, 3BM etc no longer an option, or it just doesn't ALWAYS work?

Should I use the Ritz card or the Citi Premier for the taxes on an award flight?

Looking for a Chase hotel card.
I don't need fancy resorts.  Just ordinary places to stay at reasonable rates.
Also going to Hawaii in November, so maybe I shoud get one that gives me hotels there.

Recommendations please.

The Hyatt card is probably your best option.

Hyatt will help more for Hawaii, IHG only has two options, neither of which are on Maui or Kauai.
