If I have a claim approved through Amex returns, does the purchase amount for that item still count towards the signup bonus?

Officially, it probably does not, as t would be considered a return. I can't tell you what will actually happen though. I would definitely not count it, just to be safe, unless you specifically hear otherwise from someone with experience.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Want to open a new biz card that doesn't go on my Credit Report. Currently have two inks. Spend ~20k a month in miscellaneous categories. Any suggestions as to what to apply for?

Dan's got a United biz card up with 100K pts for spending $10K.
Besides that, find something that earns more than 1 ppd (point per dollar) of valuable points.

yes you can sell the free night, and therefore worth it for retention offer, as long as it pays for yearly fee!

no, but every year you keep the card open, when the time comes and you want to close this card, the retention offer will probably be greater, being that its based on how old and much you spend on the card....   even still its a $25 money maker so why not... hatzlacha!
