How? By getting other ones and downgrading? Or is there a simpler way?
1) product changing from another car
2) using a different EIN
3) convincing them over the phone that you need another card for the same business (I believe people have had luck with saying that they need to keep expenses separate)

I got the capital one venture 10 months ago and received the 50k bonus, and cashed out my points. now the annual fee is coming up. does anyone know if they let u downgrade to another card thereby avoiding the annual fee? or is it better to close the card?

also if I downgrade - to which card would be best to downgrade to? and does capital one consider a downgrade a new cc and therefore make a new hard pull?

TIA

How long after paying an annual fee can you cancel a chase card and get the fee refunded?

I am planning on staying at hampton inn for 17nights the rate is about 87 per night including taxes. Would it be worth it to get a hhonors card just for that stay?

I was verifying my identity/SS number with a bank over the phone and the asked me a series of questions about where I and my relatives live or have lived. I have a sibling and sibling-in-law with the same name and they asked about them. Is there a way to know which person they are asking about?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

what would be a good credit card to open/have for amazon prime day, based on recent years, I don't want to miss out on any "sizzling" smoking hot deals this year, maybe @Dan can write a article on this. Thanks!

You might want to have 1 of each type of points cc's (citi, chase, amex, discover) that often have % off deals with one point and use each one at least once before so you have a couple of points to use.

It would work for using the points for the discount, but he meant because freedom's category for july-sept is Amazon, so you get 5 pts per dollar instead of just 1.5 from the unlimited.

Why not get a card that has no annual fee, then it's no bother to keep it.

Is there any thread discussing the advantages of Amex Corporate cards? I have a friend who got an invitation to apply for it. Something I remember that it doesn't have some of the options / benefits that the regular Plat has. Can someone enlighten me?

Its not simple that you'll for sure be building his credit adding him as an AU on Chase. Amex is more probable. CMIIW.
Both Amex and Chase are not that best choices. Chase will not always report the account on the AU credit report (only if they find a connection between you and the AU in their internal system). Amex does not backdate. Use rather cards like Discover, Barclays, Citi or others

Closing a credit card does not destroy credit. It will not help you build credit but it's not a negative to credit either. But please note anytime you open a new account your credit will be affected by the new tradeline for up to six months
