Does anyone know the answer?
most banks have such rules (@doctorofcredit has a good resource for them), but chase is known to be the harshest i.e. no exceptions or wiggle room.

Amex lowered the maximum to four.
By Amex YMMV, it's not set in stone. (Charge cards are a different calculation)

As far as I know Chase's 5/24 is the only hard rule. But it's all elaborated on in the article I linked.

I applied  for the Freedom Flex and was auto-declined. I think I might be over 5/24 if you count authorized users. Do I have to call recon and get approved before 1/13 (when the current offer ends)? Or will it be enough that I applied before the deadline?
