Whats the best way to guarantee that 2 apps will only cause one pull with chase?
Do them on the same calendar day.
And I think: Both personal or both business.
My favorite cause: cssy.org

I have done both business and personal on same day with one pull.

Seems like Chase doesn't ask for a social when adding additional user. Will it impact the additional user's credit score by adding him with Chase?

Based on this post it sounds like Chase will still report the credit line on the authorized user's credit report: https://wallethub.com/answers/cc/chase-sapphire-preferred-authorized-user-2140691639/

So confused every Amex card I apply for I get this message. I last applied for a card a bunch of years. What is the problem?

This is known as the Amex pop-up. It's a well known/documented tactic that Amex uses to prevent people from earning bonuses on cards. There can be a variety of reasons for them doing so:

-You've already earned the bonus on that particular card product
-You have a history of opening Amex cards and then closing them after the first year
-You have a history of opening Amex cards and not putting any spend on them other than what's needed to trigger SUB
-They just don't like you :)

Try googling it if you want more info. There's plenty of bloggers covering this. For example, https://frequentmiler.com/the-amex-popup-is-real/

Do any other banks have rules similar to 5/24?

Indeed they do. For example, this is BofA:

And here is Citi:

Here is a good article summarizing the rules from each of the big banks: https://upgradedpoints.com/credit-cards/applying-for-credit-cards-bank-rules/

Any issues with buying amazon gift cards from amazon.com direct in order to reach SUB amount on my Amex Marriott business?

Amex's RAT team is known for being very aggressive on any form of MS for SUB's. That being said, I think you'd probably be ok since they shouldn't be able to see what you're buying from Amazon (unless they receive L3 data...)

One thing I'd recommend doing if you want to be cautious is to vary the amounts and don't make them for round numbers. For example, instead of buying a bunch of $100 gift cards you could do them for $97.23, $102.81, etc.

Would that include VGCs (from Staples)?

Any DP on amazon receiving L3 data or not?

Yes, definitely.

If you still want to use Staples to meet spend then I'd give you the same recommendation, consider buying something (a pencil, a stack of computer paper, etc.) alongside your VGC's so that the amounts aren't glaringly obvious (i.e. $206.95 or any multiple thereof over and over again).

Can I apply for and get a SUB on 2 x Amex biz plat cards - 1 for a sole prop business and 1 with EIN, or does that violate the 1 per lifetime rule?

I tried to find an answer, this was the best article I could find: https://frequentmiler.com/second-amex-bonus-business/

Sounds like it's a mixed bag (and keep in mind that article is pretty old so things might have changed in the interim)

Give it a shot and see if you get the pop-up

honestly i dont mind getting the pop up and not getting approved. was more worried about getting approved/having credit pull and doing spend amount but not getting sign up bonus due to the 1 per lifetime rule. citibank (and almost barclays) did this to me.

Ah I see, well I have some good news for you on the credit pull aspect of your question, Amex normally does not do a hard pull for existing customers. See here: https://everythingwhat.com/does-amex-do-a-hard-pull-for-existing-customers

And with regards to the SUB, I would feel fairly confident that you'd get the bonus if you didn't get the pop-up during the application process...of course nothing is ever guaranteed in this game...but no risk no reward

I meant to ask you earlier, could you tell us the story of what happened with Barclays? I've been considering some cards from them so it might influence my decision

Chase cards; I have a high limit on my Freedom and on my new sapphire I have a much lower limit. Can I move some of the credit over? Does it affect my credit score? TIA

F-never so simple
The Inks & Preferred earn 1 point per dollar while the Freedom Unlimited earns 1.5 per dollar. Then you have all the categories (office supplies, restaurants, gas, etc.) which can earn from 2-5 points per dollar.

You're not using it for groceries or gas ?
