Correct, I assume it effects length of credit as well, so depending on how old the card the bigger difference it would make.

I called chase to remove an AU from an account with a high credit utilization ratio and the rep said that the history of them being connected to that account will remain but updates to the account will not be reflected on their credit score. Does that mean that they are forever negatively impacted by the high ratio on an account on which they were once an AU? Seems strange. (They offered this info even though I did not mention anything about credit score.)

Any way for a parent to make a payment for a childs card without depositing it into their bank? Tried to add my fathers chase account and it says it cant add it since its associated with another accout

Do a bill pay to Chase from the checking account.

From ABC checking you will do a bill pay. It will ask for the Chase CC info or whatever CC it is.

I just got hit with the $695 AF on my amex plat (year 2) . I would like to downgrade to a fee free/low fee card. Is that possible?

If I close or downgrade, will I still be able to file RP claims?

The card with the lowest AF you can downgrade to is the Green Card with 150 AF.
If you downgrade you can still file RP claims on purchases made when it was still a platinum and even they decline the claim because it’s a green card point out to them that the purchase was made when it was still a platinum and by me it always worked but if you close I’m not sure.

Ask for a retention offer. It may be worth it to keep it as a platinum. (I got 40k MR for spending 10k, and with the $400 Dell $200 TC and $120 Wireless credit I kept it)

Tried retention? I got a great offer this year, best I ever got. 70k MR after $5k spend. Others posted that they got the same.

It depends on the CC issuer. IIRC Chase gives a couple extra days from approval.

Spoke with Chase today. They said from account opening (approval).
How long from applying do I have to call reconsideration? Would love to buy myself some more time to hit the spending limits.

Read the current comments. It is still more than 90 days and does start from approval.
