Oops paint (Home Depot)
« on: August 15, 2010, 11:37:40 PM »
I heard that there's a product called "Oops paint" sold at the Home Depot. Reportedly its paint that was previously bought and returned (possibly a number of original colors mixed). Some of the containers are not all the way full and it costs cheaper than regular paint.
Anyone have any more information on it?
Is it available at all Home Depots?
If you bought it please post your experiences.

Fair reply for the first two questions but the third is still legit.

I actually Googled it before posting but I much rather hear first-hand from guys here at the forum, who can tell me the real deal.

One more question:
Does "Oops paint" or something like it exist in other stores? Lowes?

I've bought it before and had no problems.  It's regular paint that someone else returned.

You can't tell if it's previously opened because the way they make custom paint colors is they open the can of paint and add colors to it and mix it up so when you buy it, it's already opened.  I guess you could check the paint level to see if it's full.  I don't recall how much cheaper but it was substantial enough to make it worth while (in my opinion).  It's usually only good if you need small quantities as it's hard to get the exact shade if you need them to mix up more.

I thought there are machines that mix the colors, and the same exact color can be made later by just typing a code on the computer...
