If you have a real "full time", i'm wondering what is considered normal and what is excessive. I know that 40 hours is standard but do employers expect more from those who really want to succeed?
Accountant 40-45 April - Dec55-60 Jan-March
I know of a cpa with a large firm that works 7 days by tax season (motzei Shabbos). I think he easily puts in 80 hours / week.
1)busy season in audit is only three months? need to confirm that... 2)Are the horror stories of being at the desk past midnight true or exaggerated?
A 12 hour day for a couple of months I can understand, an 16 hour day is terrifying. Especially if they have to be at work the next morning! Is accounting the profession with the longest hours, or do others also put in these type of hours?
At least there is a "reward" in that
Supposedly Wall street jobs (like Goldman Sachs etc) are 12 hour days year round.
