Unpleasant Continental Experience
« on: August 15, 2010, 11:57:13 PM »
On my recent trip we had a bad experience on Continental (the floor was really wet, and our bags and feet got wet) what should/could I do about it (call, write which is better)? I do have a claim form signed by the head flight attendant verifying that this actually happened. If I do complain, what can I expect their response to be?

That letter (from the HFA) should do you good. Write them a good letter, and hope it goes well.

Please post back here how things work out with this.

That letter is officially a claim form, though. Is it better to write than to call?

I have always done better when writing than calling for these kinds of things.

If it had been a UA flight that Letter would have meant something and gotten you something, from a CO flight its almost worthless and meant as a way to make it easy for a passenger to let WE CARE  know where they failed but doesnt mean any action on We CAREs part as it would had it been UA

You might get something other then , why did you still leave your stuff there or why didnt you put a blanket down over it, my thoughts with CO is expect nothing and the little you may get wont be a disappointment

I was on an Austrian Air flight to Israel and the stewardess spilled a pitcher of water all over the person next to me. She apologized profusely, and came back a minute later with towels and..... a voucher for a free ticket!!

I asked her if she could please spill on me but she declined ;D

They hand out vouchers on the plane? I didn't know that was ever an option.

They have them for cases where they don't want the guy pulling the emergency brake.  :P

no question about it OS gets it Right

Last yr on my JFK-LYS-VIE free DL tkt we arrived into LYS 2 hrs early = a 6 hr layover. Yep somehow OS didnt get my bag out of the secure room so I arrived into VIE w/o it.  Baggage claim started giving me the run around till she ask for my BP and when seeing Business on it changed her tune and ended up giving me a voucher to go up stairs and get $200 worth of Euros to buy things w/o my asking for anything.

I told my Hotel when OS calls to ask them to bring my bag instead to where I was going to be staying the next night, why should I schelp it , and they did just that

This would never happen with any American carrier , heck my bag wasnt pulled in LAX last week and since I was gonna miss my flight out of SFO to JFK , they put me on the LAX-JFK flight instead my bag arrived the on the redeye into JFK @ 7am and the landline rang at 3:20am the next day (20 hrs later after the bag arrived) telling me to come out and get it. My routing was SYD-LAX-SFO-JFK
