losing points when closing a card?

Hi,

I currently have 2 Ink cards, and want to close one of them (I don't live in the US anymore and have other cards I want to keep open). They are telling me that I will lose the UR points associated with that account, even if I keep the other Ink card open. Anyone know if I need to HUCA, or is that the policy?

You can transfer points from one card to another on chase.com

Retentions gets paid based on people not cancelling their account.

Amex (chat) told me the same thing while canceling my Platninum.  My response?  "I still have other MR cards open so I should not lose those points."  Their response: "Let me check for you....I see you are right."  DROP(or chat)R

i am having an extremely difficult time with opening and consolidating accounts with chase. they dont let me open cuz i have too many accounts and they dont let me transfer credit cuz my old accounts are joint and my new one cant be. shud i just close my old ones in order to later b approved for new ones
