The only advantage my wife's 5s has over my g2 is the slo mo video. Does anybody know of a comparable high quality android app?

maybe someone else could clarify. I never said it can be seen on lockscreen. Pulling down is an option on every smartphone.

I think what elit is saying is that he can't  even pull down the screen when his phone is locked. Are you able to cozmohoot?

It depends on if there is a lock or if it is just on screen saver but easily the best phone out there

Having two major issues with my phone has anyone had similar experiences or advice:
I just did the phone updates on my phone last night that I have been ignoring for a while. Now I'm having all sorts of issues, that family members of mine have been complaining about with the g2 that I never experienced before: on random phone calls people can't hear me but I hear them, the swipe txt randomly freezes and emails randomly disappear
2nd issue is the phone is supposed to automatically back up/ sync my contacts to my Google account. Although I have all my email contacts in my phone none of my phone contacts are in my Google account even though the phone says it synced. I spent over an hour on the phone with T-Mobile and Google and they couldn't figure out what's wrong.  The Google rep made it sound like it was bizarre but after I checked with a family member and they have the exact same issue. Any advice?
TIA

Suddenly everyone is telling me that i sound real far away and distant on calls. Anyone have this issue? The T-Mobile reo said i could try buying a new SIM card to see if that helps anyone have experience with that helping?
If youre going to try a new sim card call t mobile and they'll probably Send you one for free .

I'm trying to use my G2 to tether and no matter what I do t doesn't let. It's a unlocked ATT phone.
Anyone know a good app to use or what's the trick to get it to work?

What's that?
Root, it's like an underground app store. Same idea as jailbreak of apple products.
If not familiar it's not for you.

Root does not necessarily have anything to do with an underground app store. Although I think you can get Cydia on Android.

+1 root is much more about unlocking the full capabilities of the phone and removing the restrictions placed by the carriers, with Android you generally can just download APK's for whichever app you're looking for.

@cozmohoot is right that if you don't know what rooting is it's really not for you.
