I cannot begin to express my gratitude and thanks for the outpouring of love which I see, I am humbled by my fellow DDF'ers who took it upon themselves to join the fundraising effort and help me in my time of need. It gladdens my heart to be part of such a family, who will go out of their way to help their fellows in need, whether it is financial or otherwise. What's this all about?
If you've been following this thread you may know that a longtime DDF'er who has a young family was arrested for being on the scene at the time of the sting operation.  Many of you have probably even met him in the real world. Several generous DDF'ers have donated prizes to be raffled off to bring attention to the defense fund created on his behalf.

How many raffle entries do I get?

Donate $20 and get 1 entry to each $20 raffle

Donate $100 and get 5 entries to each $20 raffle, 2 entries to each $50 raffle, and 1 entry to each $100 raffle.

Donate $200 and get 10 entries to each $20 raffle, 4 entries to each $50 raffle, and 2 entries to each $100 raffle.

I don't think the prizes are necessary, I think most people would be happy giving lshem shomaim.

Perhaps the prizes should be used for a much larger raffle campaign? I get people at my door selling $5 tickets for an ipad. I am sure if we did this with local schools we can get much more then 8k.  (number probably not accurate some ppl like to give quietly)

says the one who didn't donate. Or do you consider yourself not like (your own definition of) "most people". Maybe the sponsors of the raffle were trying to penetrate the hearts of people like you but apparently the prizes were not big enough

Not to make things even more complicated, but...
If this is going off ddf/public you need to consider whether all who have already independently donated to the fund and then find out about this will be eligible to join the raffle.

I think people from here forward should have to write Dan's Deals or DDF in the what shul do you belong to for that reason.

I understand like this.

There are 2 seperate things

1) a fund setup

2) a raffle setup by DDF

If you chose to donate to the fund, it doesn't mean that you are getting into the raffle.

If you donate via DDF, then you can get in.

All donations via DDF need to have the email confirmation submitted to jj@dd.com

The poor man answered, if the winner doesn't want a dead horse, I will give him a full refund for his ticket.

From the "Raffle Details" section it looks like there are only three donation options and that $200 is the max. Maybe add "And so on..." or something like that, indicating that the more you give (no matter the amount) the more chances you have.
