:אחרי ספירת קולות החיילים והנכים
Moshe Abutbol 50.6% משה אבוטבול 17,547 קולות
Eli Cohen 47.8% אלי כהן 16,529 קולות
Meir Balayish 1.6% מאיר בלעיש 548 קולות

Very surprising to me that Tov only clung to their seat in out of all places - Beitar illit.

Can someone please explain the matzav in Elad (have plenty relatives there, but we don't speak politics), why does a majority Sephardic city vote for an Ashkenazic Mayor?
B/c in Israel, they're afraid of the idiots attacking them, for certain verbally, and as we have seen in the past, perhaps physically.

And in large part, this is a reason that kiruv in Israel is so tough. Ppl associate religion w/ the ppl who appear, on the surface, to be the most religious, and look at the actions of the few, and the silence of the many, and it disgusts them.
Drago for president!
I see שאולזון mentioning it alot.
here: http://bshch.blogspot.com
What does it mean?

I used to read his blog; the guy is very obviously out of his mind.  He's ill, mentally ill.  Very similar illness as Shmarya at FM; two crazies who seem to have nothing to do with their lives but spread hate.
His only use is good scoops! ;D

R' yankel Horowitz from monsey said that it's a חילחל ה׳ that people that look like us in and our children with פיאות and shtreimlach are acting in such a way and that we have an obligation to distance ourselves from them.
How come people and Rabbanim don't get up and make such statements?

We ignore them, which is the best move.
We have zero shaichus with them.
I don't know if your old enough to remember what Belz for instance did with the eida hacharedis.

The kiruv in Israel isn't done by the mizrachists that opposed Abutbol. The kiruv in Israel is done by the litvish and the Belzer for instance.

Bennett and his cronies do reverse kiruv.

Unfortunately, kiruv isn't nearly as successful in Israel as it is in the US. Not by any 'movement'.
And it seems that the only ones getting rechokim is Breslav, although that could be b/c they're the loudest. :)

And based on the hatred you express for Bennet, why would Gimmel have joined lists with them in 3 cities (CMIIW). 99% of the yelling done by these parties is political, and you appear to be very much involved with the stuff based on your vitriol.

Ask the kiruv organizations in Israel and you'll hear something different .

They make a lot of noise. So what?
I'm taking about the other organizations doing lots of successful kiruv.

you make it sound like there is no good reason for his hatred for bennet. but by the government elections in israel, all the gedolim spoke against bennet, harav ovadya yosef zt"l said then, i dont remember the exact words but he said something like he is acting as if he is not jewish, and other rebbis also went out and spoke against him publicly. yes as you understand that we hate yair lapid that is going in the same ways as his father tomy lapid, that the only thing he was trying to accomplish in the knesset was to turn the population against the chareidim, and so is his son doing. if there party could post unlimited amounts of posters on the buses in yerushaleim against the chareidim, that we are stealing there money, and that they need to free yerushalyim from our hands, and comes someone with a kippa and goes with that party, then yes of course we hate him and we will always remember what he did to us. prime minister binyamin netanahu is only intersted in one thing his seat if bennet wouldn't of gone with lapid, lapid would've been nothing no power they could of, gone likud, bayit, hayehudi, shas, yahadut hatora, and libni's party was also willing to join. so we will remember him just like we remember the current rasha lapid and his father.

You sound like Bennet trying to force him to get a secular education, and ultimately, to turn fry (sic?).

@BestCards
I can understand your fear of the 'other', but then Gimmel joining with him puts them in the same camp, does it not? Or is Bennet simply evil unless it's politically expedient to join with him?

Don't forget, Gimmel and Shas begged him to join with them, and not Lapid. Why would they have wanted to join with such a person? They should remain far from evil.

I'm not saying that. I was attacking Ergel for trying to coerce you to write like goyisha Americans. He's a dangerous dangerous man. (I've never even had him babysit for my children.)

That's really funny, but down to the point, you still don't agree that there is a good reason to hate bennet?

Was it paskened that it's a mitzvah to hate him? I'd assume not, b/c if so, then our spiritual leaders in Gimmel and Shas wouldn't have joined with him during the elections. Ma'aseh harav.

Hate?  No.

Hate is what corrupts the civil dialogue in E"Y. Name calling and hate won't solve any issues.  Learn some history my friend, history of the holy land the last time this many Jews (also of diverse opinions) lived there together.  Fight, hate.  Very productive.
I know, you'll go blame it on your "gedolim"...

You write that as if the beis hamikdash was destroyed due to hate.
But this is a GOOD hate. A healthy hate. A religiously mandated hate.
Ask you Rav.
