Doesn't answer your question but canceling and refunding an AF rev booking is a huge PITA.

No holds permitted. You can cancel within 24 hours (not sure about promo awards)

Does fliying blue go thru the same sale every year? Whats the chance that they will have the same sale as last year for Rosh Hashana/Succot?

They usually have some destinations in the US for the sale, so if you could flexibility to fly to that city, then it can be a good deal.
