Its lousy because it covers summer travel. Their peak season. They have no incentive when theyre flying overbooked. So I didnt expect much. It will probably get better in July or August.

If you book a regular award (classic?) through AF, can you switch it to a promo award and get the difference in miles back (with €40 change fee)?

Promo can only be booked online so you'd have to refund the original booking and then rebook promo on-line

Booked a few weeks ago FB economy from tlv to jfk, fast transfer from spg, 3 tickets for myself, hubby and baby, 60k=75k, + 430 taxes for all. Best price and value I found, and pretty good timing too. Xfer time for points was quick 2 days.

Okay.
So how strict have they become with non matching transfers and/or booking others (multiple) out of an account?

Via MileValue.

18,750 MILE AWARDS TO EUROPE/ISRAEL.

These Flying Blue Promo Awards must be booked in August 2015 for travel in October 2015.

There are two American cities on the discounted list with discounts for Premium Economy and Business Class travel.

There are also three Brazilian cities on the list, and Promo Awards leaving Brazil are the only Promo Awards with no fuel surcharges.

Flights from Boston in Air France economy are 25% off and 18,750 miles one way.
Flights from Dallas in KLM economy are 25% off and only 18,750 miles one way.

(*Boston and Dallas both have a lot of American Airlines flights, which greatly expands the number of cities from which you can get in on the deal with Avios. For 4,500+ Avios each direction, you can get from much of the country to Boston and Dallas and from there to Europe.)

How long is the transfer from Amex MR > Flying Blue? I'm playing around with flying blue website for the very first time, this looks very interesting.
