Sprint with gd father old Plan

I have an amazing plan with sprint that i don't want to give up

BUT.... i am good for an upgrade for long time already and they giving me hard time bcs they want me to change my plan
I currently have a Palm Centro with unlimited data plan + unlimited SMS

let see how manny ppl have the same problem
and most important

I am not giving you THE WHOLE solution here, but hopefully this will direct you on the right path:
1) SOME of Sprint's new phones ARE compatible with old plans, but you might lose the MIR.
2) The reps. (and even people from the escalation depts.) don't know (or don't WANT to know) about the above mentioned point.

Yup, I'm still using a Palm Centro for the same reason.  I used to upgrade my phone twice a year and now have had the same model for nearly 4 years...

Although I have a grandfathers plan, not a g-dfather plan  ;)

HTC Snap $49 after MIR [link unavailable in brooklyn]
Samsung Intrepid $100 after $100 Mail in Rebate
HTC Touch Pro2 $199 after $100 MIR or from BestBuy.com without MIR
Palm Pro (windows) $149 after MIR [link unavailable in brooklyn]

anyone have experience with MIR in these situations?

Dan, I'm surprised that you are not more aggressive about upgrading your phone. Are you just giving in to Sprint's new policies so easily?
There ARE ways to do it.
P.S. I'm especially surprised that you didn't upgrade in 4 years.. Sprint's new policies came into effect less than a year ago only...

I have a Pre, if anyone would care to help me upgrade I'd be grateful.

Unless it's Android or WebOS I don't have an interest in upgrading.

Frankly the Centro does everything I need in a phone.  Great PIM via Palm OS, tons of solid apps (push email, luach that can calculate zmanim based on any coordinates, siddur, tetris and other games when I need to waste time, etc, etc.) and excellent phone-as-modem capability via USBmodem for my laptop.
What else do I need?

The Pre is not going to work. It requires an Everything plan.

So the best way to answer that question would be by seeing for yourself...
I don't mean to rub it in here but sometimes in life you have to give up certain things in order to gain in other ways. I myself gave up a Free and Clear plan with extra lifetime discounts and I do not regret it.
I mean the Centro is nice an all but its way behind in today's mobile age...

They cannot force anyone to do anything, the choice is the consumers.

I have my Palm Centro for the last 3 years they change it to 4-5 times when ever had problem with it
untile few month you where able to take samsung interpid was able to put on the plan but not a great phone
the good side of it , world phone, +sim, touch screan, wifi router(very good if you have Itouch)
but its not availble any more on this plan

there is only the HTC touch 2 available
but its crap and expensive

Dan I am very surprise that you dont have a BB or Iphone???!! ;)
