Sure wasn't the baserunning so that leaves...
How was Cain's play not heads up base running? The opportunity was given by several Cubs' mistakes, but you're not gonna find many baserunners smart enough to capitalize on that situation.
Which one is Cain? The guy going from 2nd to 3rd made a bonehead running mistake and was only safe because of the Cubs worse mistake. The other runner you assume knew no one was covering first. I assumed he went to second because he thought the other runner was going to be out and got lucky no one covered first. Am I missing something?
Love that steal of second/third.
Hey hey hey! That was a hell of a game!
...but what is going on with Lester?
Ask me tomorrow, I'm to busy enjoying this.
You act like the count was 3-2.
Not sure why I was watching, but I guess the answer is because of what happened. Apparently, 8th time in my lifetime (33 yrs) someone hit a 2-out walkoff GS down 3. First time it was a PH.Pretty wild.
Prior to the 442-foot blast to center field, only six pinch-hitters on record dating back to 1925 had hit an "ultimate grand slam," a walk-off shot with the bases loaded and his club down by three runs. And Bote's pinch-hit ultimate slam was only the third on record to come when his team was down to its final out.
Lester finally has a good game.
Anyone know Hamels record with the Cubs?ETA: Found it. 4-0 with 0.79 ERA
Down to 0.69
