Not worth saving a few dollars to "fly" Tiger.

You'll end up getting screwed in the long run

Thinking about flying to Australia for Pesach from NY. For the flight back, we'd have to go through Europe. I would love to do business since I am sure that is a massive headache of a travel experience. We'd be flying with a baby. Anyone have any experience with this? What's better, pay or miles? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

No sure about business, but with economy you used to have to pay through the roof to "reroute" through Europe on United/Qantas. But now Emirates has their route lechatchila going through Europe, so its still a bit more expensive but, that's the fare that they try to compete with.

Did you ever decide on the itinerary for Pesach in Australia? We are thinking about Australia (and maybe Singapore) for Pesach - trying to go all out before we have 2 more kids in the family turn 2. I think we have the reward tix priced out - any suggestions for point-based places to stay? Really trying to minimize the cash out of pocket factor...

Has anyone traveled to Australia during their winter (July/August)? I did some research online regarding the weather but would love some first hand information...

Where do you want to go?
Sydney is mild, about 60-70 during the day, not too much rain.
Melbourne is generally colder and damper, about 45-60 during the day.

I did it last aug.
Sydney was like California winter.  A bit cold in the morning but then it warmed up.  At some points it was actually hot.
In Melbourne it was a bit colder but still not that bad.  But it does rain frequently.

I should really get around to worrying my trip report

Is that for First, Business, Coach, or all of the above?
