PITA MIX is a great restaurant. Good Israeli food. Taking a ferry there would be a really nice way of getting there but it’s now a 1mile walk from the wharf as it moved. Their dine in menu is more expensive than their take away menu but you can always order off the take away menu and just eat there if you wish.

There is a great bakery across the road from pita mix called Grandma Moses which is definitely my favourite one in Sydney.

If any of your family members are into those alpha chocolates the factory is in Melbourne in the Jewish area. Best place to buy from. Cheapest and freshest. If you do go you have to check out how the factory runs. I still remember going as a child and seeing these alter bubbes managing the machines and conveyor belt. :P

Public transport is great in Sydney. A train will take you in to Bondi Junction from the city and right on top of the train station there's a main bus station with buses going in all directions. I think it's a 387 bus to old south head road.

http://www.131500.com.au/plan-your-trip

Give them any time and destination and they'll tell you the best way via public transport to get there (Some of their ways are a little idiotic so you should flip through the options first. You can even map it.)

Grandma Moses has good pastries, muffins etc. Can't recommend any in specific though when I go I usually buy black bread for myself and a lemon meringue pie for my husband.

Alpha chocolates are chocolates with either mint, orange, coffee, strawberry fillings and according to most taste pretty good. Many people buy them as presents for those back home in the US. You won’t know if you like them until you try them

Saw my post on the main site? I warned you!

The "Legend" of Glicks bagels come from the Gentiles in Australia. They think that eating bagels makes them smart. I would assume that the Yidden know better...

Aussies are totally clueless about food. Must be the fact that they had to eat in English prisons for so long....

Heading down Carlise St from Hotham St, cross street after Heimishe bakery (William st.) you'll see ANZ bank on the left corner. Turn left, head down, youll see Rishon Foods on the right. Big green building with parking lot in front, can't miss it...

If you're also interested in the Alpha chocolates, the factory is also down there. If its closed you can at least buy the chocs at Rishon.
Apparently the factory had some issues (or is moving?) and there were no alpha chocolates to be found in all of MEL.
Think anywhere in SYD may have any?

Also Katzy's was awesome!!!  I guess we'll buy shabbos food there.
We're going to check out Pita Mix as well.
Any good milchig place in SYD besides for Pizza?

PH SYD is just incredible!!!!!!

Bit of a late reaction.

@ glicks deli I had a pizza, with lots of toppings.

Needless to say that my stay down under lasted only 23:30 hours.

It was my connection from HND to MUC via BKK (2x) and ICN.

I had my tix already, but glix made sure that I didn't regret it.
