+1 but u always have those who complain about airline meals.
If u get a chance to go visit their deli, they make great burgers.

Does anybody have any recommendations for where to pick up some kosher food for shabbat? I am looking for some nice heimish food. Is Katzys my only option?

Also, I know AU is crazy strict when it comes to bringing food into the country. I am guessing that POM meals are not going to work. Would I be able to bring in shelf stable meals. I know Dan posted something about an exchange with customs. Who did you contact?

AU does have plenty of kosher food. Why not just buy there?

I am going to be flying into and out of sydney (onwards to NZ) on the same day and want to maximize my time exploring the city. Not checking out the Jew-hood and finding stuff to eat. Also, from what I understand it is overpriced and mediocre food.

You can stop by any Coles of Woolworths in the city and pick up lots of regular products. You can probably also pick up much of the same stuff in NZ, but I don't know that for sure. I just know that many "regular" kosher products in AU come from NZ.

I have a trip this week to Sydney/OZ and I'm trying to put the final details together. Specifically, I am landing in Sydney at 8:30 AM, and I have a flight to Cairns departing at 2PM. I need to get food for Friday and Shabbos while stopping in Sydney. From reading this thread it seems that Kazty's would be the place to go. Is that correct or is there somewhere better to go?

Once I know where I'm going, the next question is how to get there. If I take the train to the CBD, what bus would I use to get to Katzy's?

Thanks in advance.

Not a bad idea, but since I was never there I want to see what I'm ordering.

333 or 380 will take you to Bondi Beach which is less than a 5 minute walk away from Katzys

Some companies will give you a set amount for travel expenses, and you can figure out yourself the routes.
