This is the most generic thread of outlook questions I could find.
Is there any sort of rules or criteria I can set to require certain data to be entered before sending an email?
Use case: before someone emails me about a certain work related issue, they need to maybe choose from a drop down embedded list in outlook of one of several topics, or similar. Just like there are required fields to fill out when booking a flight or signing up for a credit card (some of things we do often around here ;) ) I want a similar sort of requirement to be met before they can send the email.

Is this at all possible?
Any creative alternatives are welcome :)

Unless you have control over the other person's email client, it sounds like you want a contact form with logic.
Or more as a more advanced option, a chatbot that has automations built in to it which eventually leads to sending an email to your inbox

And if this is the bulk of the emails you get, you can set up an autoreply with a link to the form for them to fill out if they want you to respond
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

this idea is pretty close bc I do have a Monday.com form set up in which I could make the fields required. I have a link to the form in my signature. Now the question is how do I get them to use the form instead of just emailing me?

Autoreply that says "Thank you for your message. This mailbox is not monitored. To ask a question please use this form [link] and we will be in touch shortly."

And important: stick to it. Otherwise no one will listen :)

Question is if there are any emails (further in the conversation) that you DO want to respond to, and if you can exclude the autoreply from those.

Right so that’s not a bad idea except I can’t make my personal work email a no reply email. We do have a separate inbox for issues though but I’m not the only owner of that inbox… Interesting ideas though gonna think

could you set up an Action (does outlook 2007 do those) where you click a button at the top and it sends them the reply of your choice and archives the email? If you're on top of "answering" emails that way it might be a good approach...
