I just signed up for Vesta Link free trial. I put the assigned number into my google voice account as a forwarding number so now calling my homeline rings on the phone.

1) When I pick up it says that I need to press 1 to verify that it's not a fax. How can I disable that?
2) Why do I need to ever port my number into Vestalink? Will this setup not work once doomsday hits?
1) I dont have that.
2) it should work fine.
BTW You can also spoof  your outgoing number to the gv number.

yes

you don't need to spoof. If you want people to recognize your old number its optional

1) I don't have that, so I guess there should be the setting to remove it.
2) You dont need to port your number, you could fwd your GV to Vestalink and spoof your outgoing number.

Only thing I have is that people that call in - if they get the voice mail the standard greeting says my Vestalink link number - which when people dial my GV number they dont expect to hear a Voice mail greeting with some random number, and I don't see the option to change it.

No your gv number will be fine as long as it is used every few months. If you are using it to forward it will be used.

With GV sometimes in middle of a long call it would just disconnect. Has anyone had this problem with vestalink ?

Anyone know if the vestalink phone app can be used to make calls to the US when traveling out of the country?
