Park City, UT
« on: November 01, 2013, 12:19:45 PM »
I am suprised that no one has written up on this yet.
I am planning a sking trip sometime in the beginning of January and being that there is a kosher restaurant in Park City this seems like the optimum place to go.
I am planning on staying at the Hyatt Escala Lodge.
Has anyone stayed there, and can provide some feedback on the hotel?
Also, has anyone eaten at the Bistro at the Canyons during the week and shabbos meals?

Thanks

I never stayed at the Hyatt Escala, but I did check it out. It's just ok not as nice as the other hotels, and you can't ski in and ski out.

Heading out to Park City next week for 6 days. Staying at the Hyatt Escala Lodge, redeemed 15,000 Hyatt points per night and used a Diamond Suite Upgrade Certificate to confirm a Suite. Anyone have any last minute ideas or suggestions?

If you have any questions feel free to ask. Do you have ski's with you? If not before I bought my own gear I used black tie ski rental and they came the night before to my room to get me set up. Also if you arrive on an early flight save your boarding pass and at the lift ticket counter you will get a discount. They all participate.

I plan to bring my own ski equipment. I'm arriving in the early evening, won't be skiing day of arrival. Aside from the one kosher restaurant, what's the kosher food situation there?

That is it for kosher. The large grocery stores have many kosher products. I have found empire frozen chicken in one of the grocery stores although I wouldn't rely on finding there.

You ski free the day you arrive. So ski.

I have been to park city many times before.

I stayed in the hotel where the restaurant and Minyan which is called the "Silverado Lodge". The hotel is mediocre at best. No ski in-ski out.  The plus is that you are right on top of the restaurant, and right near the Shul.

The Hyatt, is ski-in-ski-out, and I hope it will be a little better.

the restaurant is great, and the sandwiches mid mountain are divine.

How did you confirm a suite while using points. I thought the upgrades were only for paid stays?

Great restaurant. Considering the location it's a real surprise how nice it is. It can get crowded at peak season but the ambience and food is always pleasant.

On a day with no new snow, do a day trip out to Powder Mountain. It's kind of the best thing in the world (albeit has no lodging)
