Hope I'm not starting a new thread for nothing, but I searched (even via google

) and I didn't find anything on the topic.

Going to Brooklyn today (Sunday) and wanted to know people's thoughts on the best place to buy my Tallis and related things. I've been suggested Keter on 14th avenue and Judaica Place on Avenue M. Thoughts?

First of all mazel tov!! second i would say +1 to keter, they are a wholesaler with a decent showroom and you will probably get the best prices there.

Keter does not have such a large selection. Eichlers definetly has more and there isn't a real price difference

i think keter is your best bet. i know thats where the retailers get it from. i dont know much about them, how there customer service is, or there pricing but i can say is that they def have quality items there.

thats what i was about to write. make sure it fits you well. if your a skinny person make sure they let you try on the slim tallis.... sounds funny but all those who have tallasim and are skinny check how many black lines u habe from the shoulder to hand.... if you have 3 then we know u bought ur talis in monsey (ny a store which will remain unnamed

but if your skinny and have 5 lines, then the prson who sold you ur talis either doesnt know or just doesnt care....

another thing, make sure u like the texture, recently the new craz is the non-slip talis. people swear by it. i happen not to love it, the reason being that to me its very thick. but some people will disagree with me and say its just as thick as the regular 'kal' talis. in short make sure u try them on and like em

Everyone else -- thanks for the info guys! I didn't think about size in terms of width - good idea! I'll use the counting-the-black-stripes method. Seems like almost everyone is on page with Keter, so that's where I'll head. Thanks again

I got my stuff from Keter and was not overly impressed. They were a little cheaper, but both my Taleisim started ripping and the Atarah started falling off within the first year.

UPDATE:

Went to Keter. Like ppl said custserv was nothing to write home about. They had 1 worker so he had to deal with 5 customers at once, which didn't help. They also didn't have prices on anything. I'm a Jersey boy so the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn didn't work for me.
nonetheless...
I went to Keter for the price and variety. I ended up getting everything I wanted, just not sure if price was actually good via other stores, but I was definitely happy with the selection. The only price comparison I had was that 1 Tallis bag I got was $85 (which I found out after I paid, and I might still return). I saw the same bag at Malchut later in the day and it was ~$100.

Get the nice non iron kittel. They sell it in 22 sizes, slim etc.
Looks really nice, and they have 3 different designs.
It costs about $100.
In lakewood they sell it in Westgate chosson center and a few other stores around town

Hard to find a normal selection of Kittels. Plus many times even though height fits it is WAY too wide... I went to Eichlers in BP- found a Kittel I liked but it had too many frills etc.. they were able to get me one with my specifications...

This non iron one is a"no frills" kittel. The trimmings look more like the atara of a talis

I went to hamefoar it was 13th and 40th IIRC. I think they had that kittel. There's a nice selection of tallis/attarahs/kittels there.
