Who says you have to get it in the tri state area? There are dealers selling Toyota for MSRP, too. You just have to find them, and possibly be willing to wait until the vehicle you want comes in.

Reporting back here. So I first used Truecar to search for any dealers with stock of a 2023 Sienna LE 8 passenger within 75 miles. I then reached out individually to each dealer via email and requested an out the door price. Cheapest was 42K plus tax inclusive of all dealer and tag fees. Most expensive was 47K plus dealer fees and tax. I received one quote from a dealer further out for 40K plus tax which was my target price. I sent that quote to the other dealers and one of them matched right away. They sent me a confirmation via email confirming the out the door price and a VIN for the vehicle. I put down a deposit to secure the reservation and it should be coming in next week.

I am still paying above MSRP but feel that this is not a bad deal in todays market. Was really going to wait till I pick up the vehicle to report back, but after @Dan 's post, I wanted to let others know that if you are ready to put in some effort, there is still some negotiating power even in the tri-state area. One thing is for sure in that inventory in the tri-state is almost non-existent and virtually all vans are sold while still in transit.

If they matched right away, why not bounce it back and forth to see who would go lower?

Did you look at the Dealer Advertised Price on Toyota's website? Were they actually honoring those prices?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

They always add on fees to those prices. You need to contact the dealer and get an out the door price including everything and a VIN. Make them send you a confirmation via email with the VIN and final price.
