Using Paypal to get Paid for Services
« on: November 07, 2013, 01:59:59 PM »
Anyone have experience using paypal to get paid.  If the person is transferring money from their bank account to mine and they say they are a friend, and then I transfer it to my bank account there should be no fees.

But if I do it too often will paypal shut me down? Or with large sums of money?  How much would you suggest as a  maximum? ???

What other options are there?

The OP is trying to avoid fees...not what PP was designed for.

I don't see anything wrong. They set it up that way, that when sending money to family and friends from a bank account there is no fee.

How is it cheating the system?

Just to be clear, I did not say he was cheating the system.
The OP wants to use what paypal designed as gift giving (AFAIK), to get paid for services rendered.
I have not used PP in a long time, so perhaps my memory is wrong.

I am assuming the reason there is no fee has to do with, when sending a gift you can't rreally dispute it afterwards and say my product never came. (I am assuming, I don't know the policy for sure)

CMIIW, PP's business model is to make money with their fees.  A convenient way for B2B and B2C to have monetary transactions.  They offered the gift option (IMO) to increase traffic to get people to use their 'product' in the hope that they would also send money paying a fee (good/services).

What are you pointing out?
All I am saying is, is that they are two total seperate services. And if you choose one doesn't mean you'll get the coverage of the other.
