I am not sure it makes sense to open a new thread so I will post my question here..
I have 3 tickets JFK-FRA on LH in I class on the A380, booked with United miles before the devaluation. I want to experience the A380 in O class. What is the best way for me to go about it? TIA

A) you need to first find F availability, a task which on their A380 is extremely hard for two seats, let alone three.

2) switching cabin on a pre deval award technically requires reprice. YMMV.

I would be happy upgrading 1 ticket.. The other should be happy they are not sitting in economy

Is it better to check ANA or United's website? When should I realistically start looking for availability? 2 weeks out?

Check ANA. They say 15 days, though I've seen most open less than two weeks before. What route?
