I went into FD on Friday to reload my Serve, only to find that the weird VR the ones that say "Do Not Remove From Store" were all gone. Thankfully they still had one behind the counter. Who has been taking those is my question.
Made hotel and office supply store purchases with Ink Bold even though I knew I would cancel the card before the next statement to get the annual fee refunded. Points that could easily be worth half the annual fee will be forfeited. Any ideas?
Are you sure you need to cancel now to get the AF refunded? It seems you can get it refunded for up to 180 days.
Chase told me last week you only have up to 60 days from the date the fee posted to get it back.
Oh, I thought it was something like 60 to 90 days or so. I cancelled it last week and the annual fee credit already posted, along with the aforementioned hotel and office supply purchases, in the "transactions since last statement" section. When the statement will be generated later this month, I assume the points earned will show up as "unavailable for redemption". Has anyone been able to get UR points that posted to a closed account to be transferred to an open account?
I called and SM'ed after the statement printed, asking if they could transfer the unavailable points to another UR account. Both insisted that I forfeited the points by closing the account.
I don't remember the details of the AF and the # of points involved. But you may be able to reopen the account.

When the Courtyard offer was around it was tough to find hotels with gift cards. Many said they never carry them. So let's hope that online works.
Didn't work this morning. Bought a Gift Card at a Courtyard, did not get a confirmation email after.
T&C exclude Courtyard
My Bad. OuchThat will teach me to read the T&C more diligently.Onto a Marriott now......
Was hoping to make some money by selling the GC online instead ended up losing $24 by selling it.
That was on the $200 GC you bought from Courtyard, right? Did you end up getting one at Marriott that worked?
Buying fee-free gift cards and getting an expired meter ticket. Kinda negates the whole purpose of the trip.

I have a old blue cash and an everyday blue cash. I called amex to add some aus for SBS and by mistake added them to the wrong card (Ie, not the one I intended to). Of the 5 aus that I added, two were already aus
