i know im crazy and whoever cares is gonna start yelling...
im booked in mid november (yes november) for 2 days (yes only 2 days) to anchorage
coming back from hawaii, im landing tues morning in anc and departing thurs morning
i love cramming (i know everyone else hates it, but i like it)
i dont mind diving a bunch of hours to see things
how can i fill up 2 days to make the most out of,
to top it off i dont wanna pay $400-500 for single activities
id love to stick in dog sledding along the way.
how do i plan this???
The answer to your question in a nutshell is that anything you can cram into those 2 days (within driving distance to ANC) is most likely closed in November.

You said you wanted to go dogsledding.  I gave you a resource where you can find info on that as well as on some other things you can do in November, but sure, parking yourself at the airport is definitely a valid alternative.

there's dogsleding all over I believe even in anc itself another thing to do is drive to Fairbanks to see the northern lights and then go Chena hot springs around 1half from Fairbanks just be careful on drive up because alot of spots have no service and not to many gas stations open so fill up whenever possible and buy a Jerry can. The craziest part is your going to be going from Hawaii weather to Alaska weather its gonna feel even colder

Thers a place in Fairbanks Aurora adventure for $120 or 8k ultimate rewards. I cant verify their good you would have to compare to the other places. another thing to do is go to matanuska glacier they only have guided tours in winter but it's very cool and the glen highway on the way is one of the nicest drives you will ever have and if your willing to drive a hour further west with a clear sky there's a unbelievable view of wrangell mt drum on the road I'll post a pic . As I said before there's a big chance of seeing northern lights in Fairbanks and chena hot springs and there's a ice museum right there

I'm a little  confused does  prince William sound have any tours in the winter? and you said orginally you like to move but then you said you want to travel 2 hours ? I personally would drive to Fairbanks and see the northern light if they appear and do dogsleding with chena hot springs, ice museum nearby . Matanuska in my opinion is a few hour activity definently not a 2 day trip and talkeetna is basically a airplane hub to see Denali np but they only have one tour in the winter and i wouldn't bank on it considering even the summer many flights are canceled.

The glacier landing flight we did last summer was one of the big highlights of our trip.  If you are able to do it, I would highly recommend it.

Here is a link to my TR which includes pics of the tour with Talkeetna Air Taxi:

There's no option for a glacier landing from the regular providers in the winter besides in the summer when i was there they weren't able to land the two days i was there. On a side note how do you upload pics mine are always to big

Tooting my own horn here, but I might have an interesting thing going on in August. Flexible dates, minyanim, etc. See my signature and sign up for updates - details should he hammered out before long.

They appear to only have a minyan for shabbos, at least per godaven.  And don't I want to see more than just Anchorage?

The only thing to do in Anchorage, is use the airport to get out of Anchorage and see the rest of Alaska.
