Havent flown in a little while but itching to get back in the air:)  Mostly out of TEB and CDW .flew C172, C152, Piper Cherokee

Yeh, wish I could use points and miles for my flying lessons which can cost anywhere from $170 to $400 a session, flying for me is an addiction and I have to admit I'm addicted to jet fuel :P,  even when I fly as a pax in first class I'm still not happy, the best seat in the house is always the cockpit, I preffer the jump seat over EK or SQ suites lol.

I hear you. It is so expensive. And I agree, I love anything aviation also. There is nothing like walking across the tarmac towards your plane, do the pre-flight and take off at dawn!

Yes, first of all reading all you can is great and important but actual flying experience is key and the only way to really understand flying. stick with it and fly safe. It can take longer than the standard amt of hours to qualify for a ppl, but it is great.

A pilot friend told me its minimum 5K but that's absolute minimum, costs can pile up quickly.

To comfortably pass the PPL test  you'll need 60 to 80 hours, X $170ish per hour.
