As much as a tried in the past 2 years I've got a promo credit only once and then also only because I claimed that I had to buy a GPS for $75 more then on Amazon at a local store so they gave me a $75 Promo code and free return shipping.
But in principle and if you can do it you are right......

I did the gift of prime to be delivered to me the day my membership expires...since then my membership has been extended a couple of times due to delayed shipping...do I have to change the delivery date to my new end date?
