The fourth night free change isn't too surprising.. IMO the 1.66 to 1.25 is a big loss. Coupled with Admiral's Club access, it was a great use of TYP.

+1 1.66 is big loss, seems like citi and aa can't seem to get along.

Which is weird because they just made a deal on the AA credit card.

The deal was to have non exclusive rights, shared with barclays.

True but if they're moving away from AA why wouldn't they make an exclusive deal with Barclays?

It not only affects the value of the Prestige but the value of other cards when paired with the Prestige--Citi Premier, AT&T....

I actually considered cancelling Prestige when AA killed the TLV route. Don't have much use for AA otherwise (unless no choice on a route).

it used to be 4th night free no matter if the fourth night costs more than the previous 3. Now they average out the price and give you 1 free night

Also 4th night free no longer includes taxes. That is definitely not to your benefit.

Reading between the lines here, but does this signal a cooling of relations between citi and aa? If so this could be a good thing as citi may pursue united or delta as a transfer partner instead of aa...

I doubt that, though Dan is the real expert on these kinds of things. My guess is that this is just part of the overall devaluation, trying to see what AA can get away with.

Just got my 2nd year AF billed. 1st year paid for itself with airline credit and GE credit. Priority pass came in handy one time.

Since AA is not an option to TLV, and the 4th night hotel credit is useless for me, I am thinking of switching to the Premier. Would they let me downgrade and get 1 year of premier with no AF, or is that only for a brand new application?

I am trying to avoid a new credit pull and new account opening on my report.

Looks like the Wiki needs to be updated. :P

This may be the wrong place to ask my question, since the last two haven't been answered. I am planning on canceling our Prestige cards.  However, we have a claim in due to a canceled trip early this spring. My husband needed surgery and the documentation was submitted.  Because the flight was on SW we have to wait until January when the year to rebook the tickets, or use them, is up.  Approvals for cards were 11/21/15 and 11/30/15.

1. Will canceling affect the potential refund?
2. Any other suggestions?
