Regarding the airline credit, I remember that we can book refundable airfares and cancel after the charge posts. Will I get the $250 credit even if the booking is cancelled before the credit posts? Or should I wait for the $250 credit first?

Anyone know the answer?!

When does airline credit post?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Statement closes pretty soon, I'll let you know what happens. I just hope no clawbacks at calendar year end.

Does $250 travel credit count towards 3k spend?

They will usually proactively tell you on the phone, if they see a pending refund amount for downgrade.

I'm still within the time frame where I can get a full refund, so just want to be  that sure if I keep the card open I'll be able to get a pro rated refund.

they don't let you do that. they don't even let you book 2 rooms in the same hotel during the same timeframe,

ah so they check on the system and see if you already booked something for that period? Good to know.

i know this has been discussed before, but nothing recent. Is it possible to book a 4th night for someone else if you will not be present. My understanding is you can just add them as a guest to the reservation but wouldnt you still need the card at checkin/out to pay for the reservation?

I believe you will have 90 days to use those pts iirc.

But after this card is canceled, the points are no longer  as valuable as they are when the card was active? Like 33% more when used for AA flights?

Can I move the points to my no fee TY preferred card? Even if yes, I can't transfer to airlines or no longer valuable?

Thanks
