Polar routes during Sefirah

I am looking to travel during Sefirah, and I don't cross dateline.
I am curious about Air China flight 990, which takes off just after midday (JFK), and lands following day just after midday (PEK).
This is a polar route, and I am wondering if this flight experiences any period of night time.
If yes, it would counteract the fact that you are technically crossing the dateline.
[Time of year: Late April / Early May.]
If you know this flight, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I was on CX JFK HKG in may 2 years ago    http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=27876.0which departed jfk at 3pm there is no night time on this flight, you will get a great  day light view of the north pole.
