You get replacement cards for free

If you lose your phone you have to buy a new one too

IIRC I read somewhere that if you get a new phone you can reactivate it with the new one.

1) max of 8 cards on the actual coin card.
2) it's connected via Bluetooth to your phone, and if it loses that connection the coin card will deactivate.

Q. What if I lose my Coin or someone steals it?A. In the event that your Coin loses contact with your phone for a period of time that you configure in the Coin mobile app, it will automatically deactivate itself

How can a merchant ID you with coin ::)?
How can they prevent you from adding other peoples cards to coin?

They make you take a picture of the front and back of the card after you swipe it. It verifies that the name on the card matches your name and the number matches the number swiped.

Are you sure?  If I understand how it works, the magnetic strip will change to whatever card you want to use.  So if you out a purchase on Visa x4567.  When you make a return, they will want to put the money back on Visa x4567.

And they will know it's the right card how? I'm saying it seems like it will be very easy to switch. (ethics aside)

What happens if you're not carrying your phone for some reason but need to charge something.
What happens when you go to a restaurant or gas station and the guy with your card starts pushing buttons and charges whatever card number pops up?
What happens if you go somewhere that doesn't swipe
What happens if you go online to order something and need the number, expirations date and 3 or 4 digit code?
If you go on a trip and lose 1 card you usually have more. With this, this is the 1 card.
Who knows what they'll charge to replace a card after paying $50 to get it.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to replace 8 cards (yes, it says max is 8) with 1, but there are a number of issues, in my opinion.

Also this ethnology will become obsolete soon when EMV chip is gaining momentum.

1- The same thing you would do when you go into a store with your 15+ credit cards and they dont take cc.......use cash.

2- Didnt really look at it thoroughly but dont you take an image of both sides of the card?
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

That's why I said my last line. I'm just imagining being somewhere like Israel and I have as issue with the 1 card and have nothing else with me except my now skinny wallet, which I really wish I had.

If you need to have your phone with you to use coin, there's no reason it will have an advantage over nfc in the future. Actually nfc would have the advantage of not needing to carry two devices.

I just thought of an awesome theoretical use for coin.

If it lets you store visa gift cards on it, it should be worth every penny to those in the tri-state area.

Through about that.  Problem is you need to take a pic of the card,  and the name on the card needs to match the name on the coin account.  (and gc's don't have a name)

I'm sure I can easily superimpose my name onto a gc on my computer, and take a pic of that.

It's tedious, but it would great for Walmart.

However if it works, I'm not so sure the security is so great.
