I find your posts interesting and informative. They also provide a different perspective that this forum badly needs. Hope to see more of your posts.
I just love your open-mindedness. I should have written "my last post on this matter". I'd be glad to respond to any other questions or comments regarding life in Satmar or Hasidism in general.
Talking about Satmar in general: Did anyone notice how Satmar Guy, the poster who fought me the hardest, was the one to think of PM'ing me the article for me to "enjoy"? That's us - the goodhearted warriors. The Satmar Rebbe wouldn't hesitate before giving huge amounts of tzedakah to a needy zionist. And who raised tens of thousands to defend the Lubavitcher Rubashkin? Anti-Lubavitch Satmar chasidim.
@Satmar Guy
Since you didn't respond yet, I hope this isn't considered breaking my promise. First thing I read this morning I just happened upon a piece of historical information I found too interesting to hold back. No intention of further debate, just sharing:
In the Hungarian town of Kleinvardein, the local chasidim founded an independent chasidish-only shul. They wrote their takunos for every member to follow, and included a clause regarding shaving for women. They then went to get the approval from all the various Rebbes their mispallelim followed. The Rebbes that approved and commented on the takunos included, among others, R' Moishele Shinover, Baal Arugas Habosem, and Minchas Elazar of Muncasz.
The takunos are dated in the year of 1900. Although it's not that long ago, and this isn't exactly a teshuvah, I thought it said something about the opinion of Chasidic leaders from 1 generation before the Satmar Rebbe regarding this matter.
