First time parent here, expecting IYH - my wife's looked into this more, but do you need to buy a newborn car seat and then something like this when they get bigger?  What's the difference between this and the Chicco KeyFit 30 that Dan's such a fan of?

You'll want to buy an infant carseat for the first 10-28 months and then a convertible carseat for the next few years.
