If you're looking to build your credit, then, by all means, give your SSN.

I actually have 3 cards on my SPG account under my wifes name. I applied for the card and added AU right away. Got card in the mail and only got mine. When I activated they asked if I wanted an AU, and I assumed I forgot to add her in app or messed up so I added her again. I got her card 2 days later then a week later got another card with a new number.  Figured I'd see if it was a mistake and did a third and got a third number. All show up on my account online. Good use for SBS.  I did one more under my own name and got it as well. used our real names, DOB and SSN for all.  Anyone else experience this?

I got this accidentally, I ordered a card for my father as an au on my spg and got two different card in his name, had no trouble activating them both.

Just FYI I have had success in adding AU without SS online. I just put down 111-00-0000 and had no problem activating them online as well.
