Are there any good solutions out there?
If you have a computer that is on in the states, google or youtube how to make a VPN, which will allow you to tunnel through that internet connection. You can also google/youtube how to make your own proxy server, which will be a bit complicated, but will allow you to connect through a web server based in the US, although I've found that method to be a bit complicated.
The theoretically simplest solution is to manually set your browser to connect through a free proxy such as one listed
here. You can filter by country: US. However there are 2 problems with doing that. 1- it can be hard to find a working proxy, 2- Anyone can post a proxy, and you are connecting through their system, meaning hypothetically they can be collecting any UN/PW or CC/Bank info you put in while surfing through their system.
If someone knows how to set up a fast and fully functional (ie including flash and SSL support) proxy and put in on a descent host, we probably have a few ppl here that would be willing to chip in the $1-2 per month that we'd need to maintain it
