uppababy vista rumble seat
« on: November 11, 2013, 12:42:21 PM »
Does anyone have UBV Rumble Seat? I have one and find that there is no room for the bigger kid to sit as the main seat takes up too much space. I tried using with a car seat or turning the seat around, but it doesn't make a big difference. Am I doing something wrong, or is the rumble seat really not a great long term option?

We use it with the car seat.
How old/big is your kid?

I don't think it's good long-term solution but generally Rafi wants to walk anyway.  So it works when we need to go somewhere at a faster pace than his walking.

My babysitter uses my UBV for both kids she is watching.  My 15 month old sits in rumble seat and my neighbors 5 month old sits in the regular seat. My daughter always looks squashed. I bought Rumble seat because I will end up using it down the line for another kid, but the question is with the bigger kid too little for the rumble seat does it pay to buy a cheap double?

It's not roomy but I don't think it's that bad:

Cute.

I thought it was really not balanced when both kids were in it.

Thought of a double stroller yet?

Don't feel a need for one at this point.
The biggest issue with the doubles are they mostly stink for carseats.  And having in infant in a carseat is so convenient.

What was the issue with the citi mini GT?

From everything I've read the car seat adapter is more hassle than its worth.

If you weren't already committed with the Chicco, I'd say the Britax B-Agile double with the Britax car seat is the easiest of the bunch. But then again buying your infant car seat (or your double for that matter) purely for this situation - which doesn't last forever - is probably not the best approach.

That looks much better than mine. I have a Graco and I think it takes up more space.

Why did you go with the Graco?
Chicco kills it in every way in the ratings.

It was a gift and I could not return it.

I have the UBV, the rumble seat doesn't seem like a great long term option.

Any thoughts on the City Mini Select or the GT.

Saw the Select for $399 with a free 2nd seat as well as all the accessories for 20% off (boogie board, graco car seat adaptor, bassinet). It obviously doesn't push as well as the UBV, but the select as a double may be more convenient with 2 full seats that have different seating options.  Leaning towards going with the Select and maybe selling the UBV which is still under warranty and the frame is only a few months old, (will miss UB customer service)

Anyone have any advice or suggestions?
