Ouch! You are from?
Children not from Lakewood are just better in every way. The fact that they are not from Lakewood gives them this advantage, it doesn't matter where they are from, they will be better off if not from Lakewood.

My daughter mimics everything she hears so right now she calls me Honey
+1, either that or Moishy. Is it supposed to bother me that my 2 y/o calls me by my name? cuz it doesn't. He'll grow out of it eventually.

Don't respond to him calling you by your name.  That's how he'll grow out of it. (Not if everyone laughs or calls attention to it and says its cute.)

Everyone sounds a bit intense on the subject. Kids are kids. Many of them go through the phase of calling the parent by their name. And at that age, no it shouldn't bother you. You just keep calling the other party mommy/daddy when talking to them and they grow out of it.  The same with anything they are doing 'wrong' at that age.  Just keep showing them the right way.

I don't just think its strange I actually think its bad chinuch. From a young age children should be told what they should or shouldn't do. It's not only about mimicking. They should also allowed to be taught that there are differences between the way one interacts with their peers and the way one acts with someone older than them. If some of you are from Lakewood that might be too difficult a concept to grasp
not even sure what direction you're going with this...

My 2 year old is big in the mimicking, we go by Mommy and Tatty, sometimes to each other but not religiously.

I know I'm not a parent yet so I'm able to say this... It is extremely cute when a two year old uses profanity. (I know I'll probably have a different view when I have kids of my own, God willing)

That's exactly what I do, I act as if I didn't hear him, and try very hard not to laugh, after one or two tries he goes back to totty, just like he switches languages when he doesn't get his way with one.

Valid point. I'm going to ask Daas Torah.

Disgusting.
(I'm from OOT, and I still find that way too far past the line.)

Love how this thread turned into parenting/chinuch advise.
