There is nothing wrong with an honest and intelligent discussion. The one thing I really don't like about this thread, is the title. It is extremely negative, as was the beginning of this thread. It has somewhat recovered by now..

I'm surprised you would but into something that stupid. Regarding Kesubos I believe every Yeshiva, grade and teacher is different, but I believe some places start on Daf 18. Which isn't such a bad idea for 9th graders.

You kidding me? Pesach Pasuach is what we spent a long time in 9th grade learning. Quite a lot of lomdus in there and quite elaborated on in the 'yeshivishe velt'.

Maybe his R'M told him that was the reason... ;)

I know of one chassidishe yeshiva which skips it, they just read the words so they can make a siyum.

There is a difference between choosing to learn a different sugya which may be more appropriate and distorting what was learned. There is no reason that gemora nida or other more explicit sugyas need to be learned before shnayim ochzim. On the other hand if there is a bochur who learned the rest of shas why shouldn't he learn nida as well. Tzadikim yelchu bum uposhim yicoshlu bum

BTW, the sheva brachos stuff is pretty lomdish too. FYI, pesach pesuach is on Daf tes.

I once heard a story that a rebbe criticized a rosh yeshiva that they learn pesach pasuach, The RY told the rebbe that when he (the Rebbe), says pesach pasuach he (the Rebbe) thinks of a open oso makom, when the RY's bachurim say pesach pasuach, they think of a sfek sfeika.

Didn't skip in 11th grade at YAT PIT.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Like!...

Yes, could be that's on DAF tes, its been a while since we learned it in yeshiva (around 6 years ago) so I don't remember exactly which DAF is what.
All I know is we skipped some pages (and my R"Y told us to learn it when you have extra time) that wasn't yeshivishe stuff.

Maybe other yeshivos are different, I didn't
 learn in a satmar
Yeshiva, I don't know what they do.

What's so lomdish about the sheva bruches gemoro?
Love me or hate me. I still love you.
