[DEAD] 11/23 Wideroe-United Price mistake

Just had success in changing my ticket. I had united call me and spoke to a rep. Told him that wideroe wants to charge me the airfare difference and that is insane being that I have a family wedding that night and it was human error. They made an exemption and changed my flight for free to the night flight as opposed to the morning! HUCA at its best!

All the agents I've spoken to say that its not possible for them to change the ticket, as it was issued through a different airline.
And we do have a wedding the next day.

Generally airlines will not touch a ticket issued by a different airline. However you might have luck at the airport on the day of departure to change flight for a different time or route (for example if you have a connecting flight they will be able to put you on a direct flight.)

I once had United do it for a ticket issued by aeroplan. On the phone nothing. at check-in - yes.

Just noticed that I was booked EWR-TLV class T and TLV-EWR class K, is this standard to be booked into two different classes on a single RT ticket? If so, why?

It took me over 20 tries with the united call back number. The person I spoke with who got it done was named Jeff. My original return flight was scheduled for 11:20 AM and I wanted the 11:10 PM flight. I also told him it was human error not noticing the AM because I always return from Israel on a night flight.

Either that or HUCA till you finally hit Jeff. As soon as the rep says their name if it isnt Jeff just HUCA immediately

I dont think there are two. I actually got the same Jeff twice. One time he was adamant no changes the other time after I explained that wideroe wants to charge  me 3k to change the three tickets for 12 hours he was sypathetic and after a ten minute hold came back all excited to accmodate.

I tried HUCAing a few days ago on the third try I got the same rep as the first call she's like mr samdaman I just spoke to u do u need help with something else .......

What are the odds I can change the outgoing flight to a week earlier?

Chances are limited to being with but your best option is going through the United callback number they seem to more reasonable. It is a valid reason that they may be able to accomodate.

Sadly I am not able to go for a variety of reasons.

What is the 'least painful' thing to do? If I have to, I will eat the cost of the ticket (only 1), but is there a way to retain the funds for future use?
